Film of the Moment

^^Citizen Cane. Uh hmmm. Js.
I enjoyed A Space Odyssey. It doesn't hold up the best nowadays and it's long
I prefer close encounters of the third kind more. But considering there both 40 and 50 years old there good for there times.

I'd preferred another clerks movie but I'm happy with a jay and silent bob. I'll type up a review as soon as I can.
Please tell me what this "movie box" is?

It's an app. People upload movies and tv shows and you can watch free. It's not really legal so I'm not gonna recommend it. But it's got a big selection and the risk of getting pursued criminally are very small.
I like it especially for newer movies just in theatres. And for tv shows that are only available to buy.
Unfortunately jay and silent bob still isn't up.

What are everyone’s thoughts on Joker?
I thought it was good but not this masterpiece people are making it out to be. It only looks that way when you compare it to the garbage the MCU puts out. People are also using this film to make unfounded claims about mental illness.

I’ve just rewatched Velvet Goldmine for the first time in nearly 20 years. It had quite an effect on me as a confused teenager, i hadn’t thought about it in years and it just came to me the other day. It wasn’t as good as I had hoped it would be but I still kind of liked it.

Toy Story 4
I thought it was really cute (if at times horrendously scary) and a very worthy follow-up to the original.

Re: Film of the Moment
Just finished this and all i can say is wow.
Its a Korean film. That came out around 2010. At its heart its a revenge film. But A disturbing one. Its definitely not for everybody. Especially if you get squimish around "gore". Its got everything from castration to faces beat in by a barbell, to cannibalism.
I dont want to turn anyone off cause while all that sounds disgusting. The movie is really good basically it starts with a woman broken down on the side of the road. A man beats her and eventually kills her and cuts her body up. Her fiance is a police officer ( or whatever they are in Korea. Lol) and rather then just catch or kill the guy he makes it a mission to torture the sick fuck. And boy does he ever.

It's very reminiscent of season 4 of the show Dexter. Or the one with John Lithgow playing the Trinity killer. And in the end there are no winners. In fact the opposite. And everyone lose horribly.
I'd highly recommend it if you are into thriller/ horror. But be warned its a little more disturbing then most i could compare it to.
Sidenote** obviously its a Korean film and the dialogue is all in Korean. So subtitles are gonna be needed for most of us. But its easy to follow and tbh i dont think I would have enjoyed it as much if it was in english

Re: Film of the Moment
It rained pretty much all day so i stayed in bed watching documentaries.
These were all recommendations on the true crime sub reddit. But i found them all really good. So ill list them.
Dear zachary: a letter to his son from his father.
^^Probably my favorite i seen today. Its gonna be on your mind after its done.
Abducted in plain site
( i cant find a trailer on youtube but i believe the whole movie is on there)
Now this one omg, is about a rural family that essentially allows there daughter to be molested and kidnapped ( more then once) at a young age by a creepy neighbor. It'll leave you pissed off and not believing how any parent could allow this to happen. And they have enough balls to actually be in the documentary. From looking online its meant more to show this guy was "grooming" the whole family. But to me it comes off as unfit parents that shouldn't of had kids. Someone said there a special kinda stupid. To me thats being nice. Smh it also makes me think even further that Mormons are a "special" kind of faith
And....
3801 Lancaster: American tragedy.
This is a local one for me as Philly is only like 20 minutes away. About a doctor who preforms late stage abortions. When in reality he is delivering babies and then murdering them. Its so twisted any doctor would do this. Especially after watching it.
I watched 2 others but these were specifically twisted.
Ill probably watch one or two more before bed.
Still deciding if i want to watch "tickled" lol

The Two Popes was incredible. Great acting from perhaps the most perfectly-cast actors I've ever seen in a film.

Has Anthony Hopkins ever not been so good in a role that he seemed perfect?

Speaking of casting... I just remembered I took a screenshot when I was watching the movie:
Jonathan Pryce could play an older you!

Sadly, I’m not sure there’s much scope for any element of my life thus far to be adapted to the screen. However, I would be open to playing Jonathan Pryce if there are any casting agents browsing the forum.
