Both do. It's pretty much the same thing, just the standalone thing doesn't let you take the computer & screen out of it to be a separate device.

I've already got a laptop and a phone though. I just want an elaborate VR cinema because I'm a shameless whore for stupid technology.

Re: Film of the Moment
Been watching a lot of the older GKIDS distributed animated movies lately. Forgot how much I loved Ernest and Celestine and My Life as a Zucchini. ^_^

We've had one or two straight members before, but they didn't tend to stay very long

So you are saying I should watch movies with hot men nonstop until I am gay again? Damn. I guess I have no choice. Sacrifices must be made.

I suspect that would be the case with most LGBT forums.
I now remember one incident of a straight guy who joined one forum. I think his reason was to be an ally for someone gay. I can't remember how long he stayed--I have a sense, now, he was there for a good period, but not actively posting the whole time. Surprising, though, for a straight ally with that forum. Then, suddenly, one day he realized... I'm not straight.

I watched Wonder Woman 1985. Don’t bother.
I watched Soul. I’m still scratching my head.

I watched Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. It was good. I don't usually like plays or movies based on them.

I watched “the little things” tonight. It has some plot holes.

Re: Film of the Moment
Watched Ad Astra last night cause I was in the mood for some sci-fi. It was... okay, I guess. Average at best. Looked gorgeous but it committed a cardinal sin of movies in my opinion: it felt so much longer than it was. The thing's only 2 hours but it felt like double that.
It felt like it was trying to make itself stylistically similar to 2001 or Interstellar with the long lingering shots of spacecraft and majestic views of planets but those films managed to make those long shots feel impressive or grandiose in scale but in Ad Astra I was just waiting for them to move on already.
Soundtrack was incredible though. But Max Richter and Lorne Balfe worked on it so that's expected.

Yeah, I remember really enjoying the score of Ad Astra. It was the only thing I remember liking. A lot of it gave me vibes of The Shining, hints of dies iras in the melodies in places.

Re: Film of the Moment
I've never seen The Shining (I know, don't judge me) so I'll take your word for that particular comparison. But as a sucker for slow atmospheric sci-fi soundtracks to listen to as background noise Ad Astra's is pretty great.

I watched Justice League: Snyder Cut over several days. Snyder could have cut a lot more. There seemed to be a lot of unnecessary filler. It felt like the theatrical version stretched out for no real reason. But if you are a hardcore DC fan, you might enjoy it.
