Post the song that describes you.
Post the song that describes you.
Everyone has their favorite song, the song they sing in the bathroom or the song they listen when they are sad. But also there is one song that somehow sums up everything about us and the state that we are at the moment, which one is yours? Post it below and tell us why, where and when did you first hear it and how do you relate to it!

Simple man definitely is my theme song. Besides it just being a kick ass tune. It has alot of meaning to me. I kinda live my life by it.
To me it just means live your life the best way possible. But dont step on other people or treat them like shit for it.
There's to much hatred and greed in the world. All i can do is try my best to not contribute to that.
My name on here actually was simple man when i first joined.

I don't remember when I first heard Everyday Boy by Joan Armatrading; soon after it came out in the 90's I'm sure. I like her voice, I like the simple instrumentation, and the simple story. I have always felt like an everyday boy, even when others have tried to knock me down or put me on a pedestal. I try to do ordinary things in extraordinary ways, to get people's attention and make them smile.
My signature line on the forum comes from this song.

I've picked a song that transports me back to my hedonistic carefree youth and always puts a smile on my face when I hear it
I could have picked several from the album this song comes from (Loaded and Come Together primarily) but Movin on Up just has that added feel good factor for me, and is an anthem for a certain period of my life that I'd happily live over again

I didn't like it at first but enjoyed it when he got to the chorus.
They spend a lot more time on the contestants out there then they do out here.
I love when people sing in english. Everyone loses there accent.
A band redid the song a few years ago. And i didnt like that at all.
But in this context it was cool to hear.

Oh, ice ice baby. Wouldn't be my first thought for you but if your feeling it.

Re: Post the song that describes you.
Dare I play it. LoL I finally had too. Actually not bad! I'm going to add it to my go to playlist. I could throw down a solid cable park run to that one and I have been there in over a year.
The good news, I finally feel like maybe I got it all out. Or at least I'm over the hump on that one. We'll see as I always judge by behavior not words and same goes for myself. Believe it or not, I really want that out of me. Think about it a bit, would you want that in you. Honestly, it is so bad RN because it was so good for so long; all of it.
Update: Ok, I went through the lyrics. Even I have to admit the apropos-ness

Re: Post the song that describes you.
This'll do!
I first heard it sometime between 1993 and 2019. It's all a bit hazy, so can't be more exact. I was probably blitzed, is what I'm saying.
I like the whole collage thing that they do. It's an interesting way to make music, and I think I relate to it because it's so fragmentary, much like I experience myself. That is, no centre, no core identity, just a load of borrowed snippets without singular integrity. They all seem to hang together pretty well, though. It's also fucking weird, and I love that.
It's pretty difficult to sing in the shower, though.
