"It comes in 10" single"?
"Mm"
"I'm getting one."
"But you've already pre-ordered the full CD album!"

This might actually might be the perfect folky pop song. The chord progression's simple (I, a bad guitar player, could replicate it almost immediately), and the layering it interesting. The guitar solo's tight, short and sweet, chorus is catchy. The lyrics are evocative, dealing with universals like love and nostalgia, but still have a sense of place. Some lyrical gems thrown in ("boy's got soul, but he must've misplaced it"). And it doesn't end on a fade out (a personal bugbear of mine). Even the laugh at the start is cool, they're having a good time recording it.

10/10. In awe of this lad.

But wait! I'm listening to it again, think it might be a bit cleverer than I initially thought, too. The chorus is:

"She said she had a thing for James Dean, and the music of the 50s, when they used to keep the streets clean"

So she's nostalgic for something which she herself hasn't experienced, and she's looking back on it with rosy eyes ("they used to keep the streets clean"). That's a great line. It's kind of a criticism of nostalgia, maybe, or a comment on our current cultural state of navel gazing introspection?

Anyway, here's more of him:

Edit: Unless I'm misinterpreting it and he's singing about an elder relative or friend, in which case kill me. :P

You hear her dad's version? He kills it. I also enjoy the sonny and cher version.
Its such an epic masterpiece. Frank Sinatra kinda opened my world to that kinda music. I probably never would've went back if it wasnt for him. He has plenty of great songs that still hold up 50-60 years later.

Another Sinatra classic that he rarely gets credit for. Most people know it from roberta flack or more recently the fugees. But nah it's Sinatra.

Some of the less known

Somehow the Youtube share never works, or I'm too dim to do it correctly.

Just post just the youtube brackets and whats after https//youtu.be/ in between them. If you quote your post and mine youll see the differences :keke:
Its easiest to just choose where it says youtube from the "post a reply" page. The brackets will show up exactly how they should be and you just add the code between them.

Hope tou contribute more. :awesome:
