:P

I read that Melissa released this as the first song after she came out as gay in the 90s, and it was kinda a minor gay anthem for a while on some radio stations.

Plus I like the song :D

Edit: my typing is rubbish

New discovery! Must have passed me by at the time. Surprising, since they apparently toured with The Killers, and I was a big fan.

Also, moar Ezra Furman.

New album, "The Neon", from Erasure!

On first listen: Could have been more ambitious, but there's a return to their club roots and that's what they're best at. There's a few quality tunes on this. I rate this a Good Solid Erasure Album.

Also, here's their synthy cover of Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill", because it's fab.

Have we had any Mika yet? How about a less well-known one?

I had a huge crush on Mika back when I first saw him in "Grace Kelly". Must've been around 14, incidentally. Having survived on nought but forgettable early 2000's indie rock until then, I had no idea that guys were allowed to sing like that, and it was a revelation.

Here is a video of an apparently very nervous Mika playing on Jools:

Too tame by half! Need to mix this up. Much noisy weirdness inbound:

Genisis-P-Orridge (the frontperson here) was such a strange being. Their band, Throbbing Gristle, once described as the "wreckers of civilisation" for their utter disregard for artistic norms and their grotesque, profoundly tasteless stage shows. Sinister, magical, industrial noise for Psychick Youth. Ooh, ain't it nice?

And Ghaal is a lovely chap. Performing here with God Seed. Hail Satan and whatnot.

Oh, ace! I'd never seen this before. You may be interested to hear that Elton recently did a collab with Gorillaz, for their new album, Song Machine Season One: Strange Timez:

Now for the best Elton song. :P

Here is possibly the most bitter gay anthem ever written (Tom Robinson Band, 1978). A song which holds the esteemed honour of once having been banned from BBC radio stations:

Also had a hit with "2-4-6-8 Motorway":
