Taboo, on Netflix. Tom Hardy is on form and the gritty shithole of 19th century London is convincing.

The secretary is handsome too, they act like gay couples.
Currently hot drama on Netflix

I'm nearing the end of season 1 of Taboo. I know it's several years old at this point, but if anyone hasn't seen it, you owe it to yourself to watch it.

There is supposedly going to be a second season. We shall see.

I have season 2 of Upload, from prime, lined up next.

So, Upload season 2 ended after only 7 episodes and on a really strange note. It ended on what felt like the midway point I the episodes story... weird.

Now I'm watching Person of Interest. I wanted to watch it when it first came out it never streamed here or if it did, I kept missing it. Who can be bothered with those dodgy pirate sites these days?

But it's now on Prime as part of IMDBtv. I'm loving it. A procedural cop-like show, with sci-fi under tones and an anti hero character that doesn't hesitate to hurt bad people.

It's good viewing so far.

Having rewatched Avatar: The Last Airbender together with our boyfriend, we recently saw the first three seasons of The Dragon Prince, from the same head writer. Another really cute, funny, all-round amazing show :keke: (100% on Rotten Tomatoes just like TLA). So amazing it was renewed for the remaining 4 seasons in one go. :awesome:

I just wish they didn't keep us waiting so long... 3 years between season 3 and 4 (not expected till 2023). It'd better be extra good :P

Been getting obsessed with Midsomer Murders of all things out of fucking nowhere recently. Started as a nostalgic thing but I'm past the point where I remember the episodes from my childhood, now I'm just watching it because I find it really compelling.

Also just started rewatching Dragon Ball Z with my brother. :awesome:

It'll probably take us a few years to get through all almost 300 episodes as we don't see each other very often, but we did 15 episodes in 24 hours to start off. It's still awesome :keke:

My husband and I are watching the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Anime for the first time. I loved the “what the fucking shit” look on Dawn’s Mom’s face when she found her 10 year old daughter’s lacy skimpy nightgown.

I've been rewatching Boston Legal again. It's on Disney plus Starz.

I forgot how much I loved this show. It's funny, intelligent, sprinkled with some drama and the occasional bit of ethical exploration. Not to mention the all star cast. And I love and I mean LOVE James Spader. Shatner is also marvellous, I suspect he plays himself.

My better half wants me to watch Manifest, but I think that is gonna have to wait for a couple more days :D

Oh Kate Mulgrew! Crazy old lady. But she can be an awesome actor. Loved her in Orange is the new black. Also notable for playing Flemeth in Dragon Age series. Strong supporter of the IRA, weirdly enough. American Irish mentality. No one is perfect I suppose.

Finally watched "It's a Sin". Definitely brought out the waterworks at the end.

Just finished Umbrella Academy season 3. It was really good. This is one of my favourite shows.

I couldn't finish it.

My biggest gripe with the writing for that show, is the incessant need to create drama between the main characters.

Now I'm not averse to some drama. But it's often times needless drama. The whole storyline with Alison losing her shit at the drop of a hat, didn't make her relatable, it made her annoying. In season 2 it was Diego who was annoying af. And season 1 it was Vanya.

It wouldn't be so bad if the conflict brought something interesting to the mix but it doesn't. It just introduced discord for it's own purpose and undermines story elements and character arcs for short term thrills from the petty arguments.

I'm rewatching the latest season of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." It's just about as good the second time around as it was the first!

Be nice to the 19th century UK, since it did after all contain so great a fellow as J.M.E. McTaggart—not to mention so delightful a woman as Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Both of these things, I think, come close to making up for whatever deficiencies the 19th century might've presented.

Anyone who hasn't watched "its a sin" I'd recommend you start now.
Its a 5 episode mini-series and covers the aids epidemic of the 80's in the UK, a great cast and directed by Russel T Davies (Dr. Who, Queer as folk).

Unfortunately I put episode 1 on with my straight friends last night and they where 😐
