What games are you playing?
Re: What games are you playing?
I have a regular thing of wanting to get into Paradox grand strategy games. Europa Universalis IV being the main one I'd love to be able to be good at.
But it's incredibly daunting and not to mention there are like 5000 DLC updates that I don't have so even if I was able to get good at the base game as soon as I started hypothetically adding those I'd be fucked over again.
But the need to be good at Paradox grand strategy games continues so I've decided to start playing Imperator: Rome which is their newest historical one because it's similar in how it works but it's not years old with hundreds of pounds of expansions to it so I figure it'd be easier to get into since I can start at the ground level with it, given how recent it is.

I bought Breath of the Wild for my Switch and it is the most frustrating game I have ever played... Every time a weapon breaks it makes me want to throw my controller out the window.
Does anyone happen to play APEX Legends?

Omg, I know. There's a few expansions which are, like, essential (Art of War, for instance), but a lot of them are area/faction specific (e.g Third Rome and Cossacks, if you want to play Russian or Steppe factions). Wait for a sale and get the base game with AoW and Common Sense, I'd say.

I've owned the base game for ages. Just none of the expansions so even if I put the hours in to master it, I'd only be mastering a very feature-lite version of what the game actually is.

I am playing League of Legends again because apparently I hate myself and enjoy being miserable.
Also, I am kinda lazy about starting new games.

League took one of my friends. Got hardcore addicted and she literally died.
Not really. She did seriously fuck up her studies for a bit, though.
Anyway, come play Runescape. It's totally shit. Fucking love it.

I'm constantly baffled that Runescape still exists.
OT: Still playing Skyrim as well as dicking about with Imperator: Rome and Europa Universalis IV because I've never learnt my lesson that sometimes it's best to just stop banging your head against a wall when it shows no sign of crumbling any time soon.
But to add to that I'm getting the hankering to play Dragon Age as in the entire series. And given how unwieldy the first game is when I try and play it on console and I've got a gaming laptop properly set up now, and it's on Steam, I feel it's only a matter of time until I inevitably crack and buy it because I have zero self-control.

League is deceptively addictive. I can't count the number of nights I've ruined thinking I'd play "just one more game" and then it's 3am.
I have never been able to get into MMORPGs. They always feel too grind-y to me.
I am playing a few other games on the side, like Control and RDR2, but they aren't keeping my interest.

Re: What games are you playing?
I'm playing The Sims 4. I have all the different packs that go with it too. I'm only playing it right now, cause I'm doing a series on youtube. So far it's pretty fucking sweet if I do say so myself. The only thing I wish that was different from my series would be the voice acting. I bought a speak-by-text software and it makes the people sound robotic, but, it's the best I could do when you're on somewhat of a budget. At least the effects are cool. I use Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro, which is industry standard special effects.
Here's an example of the Universe trying to tell you that you need healing in an area of your life:
Someone who struggles with showing emotion. This person, in their lifetime, will constantly struggle with this, and that is because, they choose to ignore or disregard the fact that they have trouble showing emotion. Most people will ignore this issue, and will continue to fracture themselves. And this goes with pretty much any problem that happens in your life that is recurring. Don't pass up an opportunity to make you "whole" again.

Crusader Kings 3 because clearly the answer to failing to be able to learn to play two strategy games is to add a third one from the same developer to the list.

Jealous. That one's more about court politics and creating dynasties, isn't it? I'll go for either this or Stellaris, I think.

Yeah it's not about controlling a country itself but more about controlling the ruler of land and their various heirs to create a huge powerful dynasty.
It's really entertaining so far. Even when it just screws you over it at least does it in funny ways. Like my 17-year-old ruler dying from an infected wound sustained during his very first battle, leaving his title in the hands of a literal newborn.

Re: What games are you playing?
I’ve recently started playing a remake of Dragon Quest III for the SNES. It’s a cute game and takes me back to when I was young and small, playing old-school SNES rpgs.

GeoGuessr is psychotically annoying and insidiously addictive.

Playstation is offering free PS4/PS5 games for the next few months as part of their "play at home" campaign. Horizon Zero Dawn is free in April. I highly recommend it.
