You know, I'm disappointed too, but I'm not, like, pissed? They're showrunners, not my parents and it's a tv show. It literally only exists to be watched.

I think people are disappointed for a couple of reasons. One being time invested in the show and another is seeing one of the best shows of the 2010s being, what’s the word, desecrated?

That sounds like a massive improvement, especially incorporating some of the tweaks mentioned in the comments.

When I signed it last night it had around 150,000 signatures. It's now approaching 300,000 :P

Its just under a million. Lol.

I really like the About the petition update he guy posted a few days ago. He's pretty eloquent. I wish more people in news would read it instead of assuming we're just mad the story didn't go the way we wanted it to, and that we actually expect this to result in them reshooting the season... *sigh*

Is Dany going to succumb to madness in the books? Probably. Is Arya going to kill the Night King? Well he doesn’t exist in the books as of yet so…maybe? Is Jaime going to sacrifice his entire character arc to go embrace Cersei? I’d doubt it, but that’s GRRM’s decision. The issue I have is not necessarily with what we got, it’s HOW we got there -- A rushed, laughably inconsistent mess of a season fraught with cringe-inducing, arc-slaying dialogue and “everybody is stupid” syndrome. We can expect that the books will describe a more sensical path toward the ultimate conclusions that we will see on Sunday. No pressure, Mr. Martin.

D&D adapted those books in the beginning and it became one of the greatest TV shows of all time. No one can doubt their talents there. But they seemingly became tired of the series and rushed to the end, thereby doing the show and its fans a great disservice.

There’s only one word that can adequately describe this series finale: pandering.

People like pandering. Pandering makes you happy. Like Jon petting Ghost. I was kind of hoping it would turn into the Korra finale and Jon and Tormund would kiss. If everyone on the internet is just going to be shitting themselves for the next week, it might as well be over something cool.

The Red Keep has been obliterated. There is no roof on the Great Hall, we saw all the towers fall, Drogon fucked it all up. What’s still standing is charred and full of ash

Apart from, it seems, the Tower of the Hand and everything in it. That was untouched by the destruction of the city and perfectly clean and presentable as if nothing had ever happened, ready for the first meeting of the new small council.

I’m upset at myself for that being the thing in the finale I was most upset about. That and the fact that Drogon was legit the only character that got an ending with any actual emotion involved.

It was so cheesy when the camera pulled away as the small council bickered. And the clichéd slogans throughout. Yeesh. It’s like they threw every possible trope and stereotype imaginable onto it.

This might as well be the ending...

Also me, waiting for G.R.R.M to finish the books so we get a good ending.

HBO wanted a full 10-episode season 8 and an additional full season.
