Are there straight narcissists posing as gay?

Unread postby Alejandro Pedro » 21 April 2022, 21:25

I have, during a rather long period in my life up until rather recently had a relationship that I only after about ten years realized was destructive. I had not much idea of how I was manipulated until the end, as I grew smarter about how certain things were like as I was learning about narcissistic disorder. That person I had a distance relationship with claimed he was gay, acted gay, but after what he did to me, I started to doubt and when I realized he was a narcissist, I started to wonder if he was some straight person who manipulated me, posing as gay. My question is I wonder if such people exist? There were some sexual intercourse between us when he came down to me on a long trip, I had a house back then and only after a few years I managed to figure out using the knowledge about narcissistic people that he gaslighed and manipulated me. I figured out he might even have tried to make me to sell my house, but I never did of couse, but the relationship caused big wounds. It finally ended when he showed his true colors in a social situation just a few months before the covid outbreak where there were more people involved, that helped me realizing who he was. With "Narcissist" I mean the abnormal pathological sociopathic disorder. Or are there rather gay men who has this kind of extreme disorder as well as heterosexual people? I have now a therapist and go through all this. What does any of you think? Are there straight narcissists posing as gay?

Sociopathy isn't a disorder in the DSM, and if you're going to apply the term, 'sociopathic,' to anything, I'd suggest doing so with antisocial personality disorder.

On what do you base your presupposition that only heterosexual people can be narcissists?

I’m sure they exist, but most of the time they can just get the attention they crave from women instead.

Are there straight people "posing as gay" to manipulate people? Like... maybe? I'm sure it's happened. Common? I wouldn't think so.

But the more pertinent issue to consider here is this: gay people can be absolute tools, too. They have the right to be recognised as absolute tools when their being absolute tools. Absolutely. That's what gay rights is all about. :P

Thanks for all the answers. I am now sure gay people could be that way, the responses I got and I also found some drama related stuff on Youtube that really enlighted me. I also learned a term called "Spilling tea". Also there seems to be quite much of this bad trait among some celebrities too. I don't think I need much more answers here, so thank you all. I am going to reaearch this. Now It's a good idea to try and learn not to fall in the same trap again.
