I have a screwed up life

Unread postby Martian » 6 May 2019, 17:20

Hello everyone!
It's been long time i haven't been there. I think I'm suffering from something multiple  .

First, I think i might have some shyness on me and i'm form Turkey, and 26 yo. In my country, people talk about marriage, being bf/gf many times a day... I try to dissappear in the world at those times because they also ask me about my life, too. They're like ''Mr. X dont you think of getting married? Do you have a gf?'' and many other questions...

Second, I'm suffering from loneliness... It doesnt matter if it's a friend, bf or one night stand but I think im looking to communicate someone like me, who is gay. I think of going to a gay bar but I dont have it in my town. I can even consider changing the city for one two days but the thing is that I think i dont have courage to go those places and I'm exteremely shy. Also, some people say I really have good confidence (I dont ask them if i have confidence, they just say it) but I dont think I'm the person I look from ourside. I feel that i dont have self-confidence. How can I step further and leave loneliness behind?

Anyway @Martian I think you really really do need a change of scene. I know that's scary but if you feel your place isn't liberalising quick enough, then if I was in your position, I'd seriously consider moving. I know that's much, much easier said than done but still it's not impossible.

You're still quite young as well, there's time.

Have you guys downloaded the Google Translate app? Google bought out this other company whose app I used to use to translate signs and such just by using my phone’s camera. The Google Translate app has the feature! :awesome: Make sure you select the camera option and then click “instant” at the bottom for real-time translations on the images themselves!

The biggest hurtles in life are the ones we put in front of ourselves. Simply stop creating barriers that don't really exist and you'll be way better off.

My most sincere advice is that you need to meet other gay people, be it through the internet or whatever. You feel lonely because you are. None of us got to a point where we were comfortable with ourselves without the benefit of the relationships we built with each other and other supportive people. It's bound to be extremely difficult in a country that probably has no visible gay community outside Istanbul, but that's just the situation you're in.

Come on Derek, are you guys serious? Memorize the usernames and dates. Martian made this complaint before he was able to experience being around gay people. He went to Istanbul's pride after this thread and he's going through a different time. His words from the first post aren't relevant anymore. He's on his path. It's all good.

Sí, ha sido una gran mejora. Además, verifiqué algunas cifras (números) sobre qué porcentaje se traduce correctamente del turco al inglés. Fue hasta el 80%.

I din't look at the OP date. So yeah, now that you mention it he's made good progress and the OP is not relevant at this time. Another reason to dislike when people dredge up an old post and comment like it's new. You just assume it new...

Actually, we're not totally invisible. we did pride march. police officers stopped people, though. Also, on that day, people had LGBT flags on their t-shirts, hands, and necks, some even had lgbt make-up. Some men wore only skirt and bra.
