It's all good, I think he understood. His neighbor asked him out for a movie and they're getting it on pretty soon from the looks of things, so he's found someone else to be invested in. Good for me!

Yeah that's why I don't talk a lot to someone I'm crushing on. Don't wanna make them feel awkward or self conscious.

Romantic attraction from relative strangers can be freaky. I've experienced it too but I've learned to tell them respectfully but firmly that I will not be indulging in anything I don't feel like and they'll have to be more platonic. It's also better to make these things clear right in the start. Be decisive and assertive.

I've only done that twice in my life so far though. Who says average looks don't have their plus points, huh?

He's disappointed at the neighbor now because the guy ghosted him, and some other encounter was a terrible experience he didn't even want to describe. He wrote "Il est beau" for me in French when we were tasked with describing our pairs.

Among other small things. But most of it is actually kind of endearing. I managed to let him know I'm not comfortable with him noticing or criticizing the small things I might do (the nail story).

He's a bright kid, I think we'll be fine. I guess I'll take on the whole tutor role thing.
