I ruin everything every time

Unread postby Badlands17 » 4 August 2020, 18:29

Good morning everyone, I'm writing this because lately I've been feeling pretty bad about my dating life: every single time I encounter someone (whether it is on dating apps or real life) that I find myself comfortable with I end up ruining everything because as soon as they show interest I somehow lose mine and I can see myself drift away from the person and the worst thing is that I cannot even pinpoint a reason why I feel like interrupting the relationship, it's almost as if my brain could not accept me actually being in a relationship. I honestly have no idea why I always end up either running away or pushing people away from me when I spend so much time wishing for a relationship or for someone to like me back. I'm in my early twenties so I definitely have time to learn how to properly date and handle my feelings but this situation has been hurting me for the longest time and I would love to hear from others if they feel similar things.

I've felt that way once, maybe you just haven't really fallen too deeply for someone. I dated a guy for a couple of months that did absolutely nothing wrong, but at some point I just didn't want to go to his house or be with him, I just wanted to do my own thing. The guy I'm with was the opposite direction, I was just having fun but I craved his company and doing things with him, introducing him to my friends etc. It all felt very very different from the other experience.
