Out to everyone (except my boyfriend).

People always just assume I'm gay anyway....

All the verses, or just the “anthem” version?

I mean, I’m assuming you’re afforded the available time to make this a relevant distinction. I hope you are, anyway.

Hows does the saying go - "To the world and it's dog". LOL! I'm 38 now and came out at the age of 19. I came out full and completely in about a period of 6 months. And this year I've officially been half of my life in the closet, and the other half out of the closet. And yet I still find myself hoping I came out earlier. I would have loved to at least try take a boy to my school dance. It's horribly learning and navigating around love and emotions and learning the ropes at 19 while your straight friend have been going exploring and learning from what - 10? 13? I believe that's a big reason why some guys that come out later can be so messy. They still emotionally immature for a relationship and still finding their way. No, definitely not saying that's a reason to be a prick.

That may be so, and it's something I've considered. But the big mess I'm most aware of are gay guys who ended up married to a woman. In some cases, they really didn't know/accept they were gay. Others know they are gay, but think they can make it work. And at some point, they either realize I'm gay, or if they knew they were gay, realize they can't make the relationship work. Based on the cases I've seen discussed on line--admittedly anecdotal evidence--it often becomes a very messy situation. Usually, the marriage ends--often with acrimony.

I'm one of ones who realized "later in life"--although at least I never married, never had a straight relationship. Although I have to admit I do cringe at the thought of even attempting to date, given that I have no experience and no skills. I may well just decide to stay single for the duration. It might be the kindest decision I can make for the good of others. It certainly seems like the easiest solution for me.

I came out to my family when I was eighteen, when I first came to admit it fully to myself. When my grandfather died without knowing, because my family asked me not to tell him, fearing the stress of knowing would make his illness worse, I came to a decision. Never again would I allow anyone in my life to not know who I am as a person. From that point forward I just lived my life openly. It cost me some family members, and some friends, I won't lie, and I won't advocate such an approach for everyone, but it has given me so much self-confidence, and peace that I will never go back in the closet for anyone, or anything.

I just fully came out to my extended family about a month ago with mixed results. Too bad. It's my time now.

I work at Delta Air Lines in Toronto Canada and have been slowly cuming out to the girls at work to get their reactions so I can judge my acceptance at work, It's the guys I'm afraid to cum out to.

If you do that, you might have a problem with them, indeed. So first try the normal way - by coming out to them and if they're OK, then you can try with cumming out to them.

I've come out to the most of my friends, even to one of them who knows I like him. Sometimes I get the feeling he likes teasing my by taking off his t-shirt and walking around half-naked. And once, in a sleepover party at our mutual friend's home, that same guy (the one I like) slept on the couch fully naked. Needless to say it took all of my strength of will not to rape him and then ride him right there on the couch. Image

My mother and our relatives on her lineal line don't know I'm bi and never will. Once I heard them talking about the Pride and I was terrified of what I heard. One of our relatives said if a gay ever came even close to her (as in distance), she would rip his stomach open and make him eat his own intestines. What's worse, the others supported her in her opinion, my mother included. So from that moment on I avoid that subject when I talk to them. If they ask (and they ask me often) why I don't have a girlfriend, I say I can't find the right one and then I change the subject. Even when I talk to someone who might know our relatives, I avoid talking about such things.

The guy in question found out I liked him only after I came out to him too by telling him I liked him.

As for the other thing - what do you mean by "ruining it"? What did I do wrong?

It actually kind of made me laugh. It was quite a sweet story about a friend who you fancy, who clearly likes being fancied. He probably is slightly curious himself even if he won’t admit it or act on it. Anyway he likes teasing you... etc

...and then it took all of your strength not to rape him... etc.

You probably didn’t mean rape. You probably meant pounce on him, or have your way with him. They essentially mean the same thing but are a bit more playful.

So I was joking about the perceived sudden change of tone in your post. Some people would genuinely be offended by the rape comment (imagine if it was a guy talking about a girl, then ask whether it should be any different when it’s two guys). Others would take it in the spirit it was intended and be completely OK with it.
