My mom forwarded me this stinker of a report written by a Trump staffer and hosted on a website called "Bannon's War Room" that looks like a fucking Wordpress blog from 2003

https://bannonswarroom.com/wp-content/u ... 5.20-1.pdf

I read through parts of it, sent her a 3000-word text explaining why the first handful of claims are untrue and not supported by the citations. I'm not a legal expert or even a strong critical thinker, but it causes me much pain to think how people are stupid enough to be taken in by this and that my mom is one of them.

I got as far as the 'outright voter fraud' row in that first table and had to tap out to protect my own sanity.

Trump thugs have breached the Capitol Building. There are barely any police to be seen. Congresspeople being evacuated. Smoke on the west side of the building. Reports of burning smell inside the building. Video of the thugs in combat gear smashing windows and climbing in. DC mayor ordered 6 pm curfew.

I have listened to a Trump speech maybe one other time during his entire reign of stupidity. His pre-recorded message to supposedly end the rioting was surreal in a vomit-inducing sort of way. He tells people to go home, and yet he repeats his outrageous claims that he won in a landslide and the election was stolen. He calls his opponents evil. He is clearly continuing to pour gasoline on the fire while keeping vague enough to stay inside the law.

The next 14 days are going to be miserable.

He's keeping his base riled up and chomping at the bit so they all descend on DC to do this all over again on the 20th.

Just take some solace in the enjoyable aspects as they occur.

Today’s enjoyable fact is that the rather happy looking chap that stole the Speaker’s lectern, and let himself get photographed, and smiled and waved at the camera, is now all over the world. Face clear as day.

Just think to yourself that he must know by now that he’s fucked. Someone he knows has to have texted him by now that the world knows he committed a felony and as we sit and watch the news, he’s literally pissing himself with anxiety at the prospect of being in prison by week end. That feeling he’s having right now, if that doesn’t warm your heart and cheer you up? I don’t think anything will. :keke:

Or the man who, from his verified Twitter account, highlight Nancy Pelosi not having locked her computer as she evacuated. By photographing her email inbox. And posting that imagine on the internet.

The Speaker is security cleared. That man, if he has any sense, buzzing the intercom at the Embassy of Ecuador. Soon, he shall also be in prison.

This revolution has so many people that have let themselves get carried away in the moment, only to basically provide all the key evidence in their own prosecution. God bless the temptation of getting that killer social media post from inside highly restricted areas.

Most of the building is covered by CCTV. Even without the news cameras and everyone filming it on their phones, they will have plenty of evidence to prosecute every single one of them. Of course, these morons will all claim it's a conspiracy.

I did take a certain amount of selfish pleasure in the fact that I am working remotely. I live in the general area, and even the most peaceful protest wreak havoc on our traffic.

Pretty surreal that we were/are just 18 miles (29 km) away from this! :runaway:

People are now discussing another impeachment or removing Trump under the 25th Amendment as unfit for duty. I am learn so much more about the way our government works than I ever learned in school. I need a new series of School House Rock to explain all this to me.

Did any of you listen to that phone call? I listened to the whole thing when I was bored at work today.

I thought he was quite a bit more focused and coherent than usual. People always say he's demented, but I don't think it's true, he's just incredibly, unbelievably stupid.

I don't know. I too was always a bit dismissive when I heard the 'the president is ill', 'our president is not well', 'he's demented' stuff on CNN and whatnot. But I listened to the whole hour and came away thinking he wasn't coherent at all. The amount of bumbling was quite something. I do genuinely think he believes the election was completely rigged though, he's absolutely convinced himself and surrounded himself with others telling himself it.
