Do you think China will overtake the US as a superpower?

betonhaus wrote:Technically china is already the superpower. Virtually every company has outsourced manufacturing to China, so China has the factories and workforce to make anything. If they decide to block all exports to other countries one day our economies would liekly crumble as everything become much more expensive.
In north america and such the local branches of companies merely do R&D and financials, and China's factories have copies of all the blueprints and China can nationalize all of the factories and go pure communism and default on any financial obligations.
They do a lot more than just R&D and finance. Marketing, sales, and virtually every other service is still conducted domestically. Manufacturing is what has been outsourced, not service.

Honestly, I think China just wants us wiped off the map. Just like with other countries, we're not really well liked. But, have you all noticed something? Cause we haven't had another World War or Civil War yet (although it might be on the horizon). However, I've noticed that it seems like instead of trying to take out the U.S. from outside the U.S., it's almost like they're trying to take out the U.S. from within. But, that's all I'm going to say. If anyone is curious about my political beliefs, you can message me, cause I will not tell anyone my political beliefs on a public forum.
Here's an example of the Universe trying to tell you that you need healing in an area of your life:
Someone who struggles with showing emotion. This person, in their lifetime, will constantly struggle with this, and that is because, they choose to ignore or disregard the fact that they have trouble showing emotion. Most people will ignore this issue, and will continue to fracture themselves. And this goes with pretty much any problem that happens in your life that is recurring. Don't pass up an opportunity to make you "whole" again.

I'm commonly reluctant to mingle in with political sciences, mainly due to the barrier of intelligence, I guess, and because most people see things different, than I could, and it had disneuronising ( is there a word like that? ) effects, to argue with people I do not know anywhere near to close.
Well, I think, that China already owns a lot of parts in the world. It may not always own officially property, though in Africa they do quite a bit, but they own the dominion of certain structures of states and the knowledge of how to make them work for their own benefit.
There's a saying about Chinese people, that don't work, but let people work for them.
I think they have the knowledge on how to let things and people work for their benefit, whatever they want to be realised in ways that serve them, in a low noise, obscure way. This is how they own part of the USA already.
Above, someone said they would take out the US from within - I guess that pretty much describes the way of practise.
If it was true what was variously published about debt that the USA had in China, they likely might own the US in different ways
So as M.D. esq. put it, they do, what they want.
Who is going to tell them otherwise? Putin of Russia? LMAO.
Kim Yong Un is like a pet bulldog to them, Trump probably was a squaking bullfrog ... China knows, they don't have to overtake USA with guns and bombs, they are intellectually past that, or systematically. They are more alike the leafcutter ant of human civilisation. The US is growing good funghi, why bother to change much of the funghi growing business? If the need would arise, they would send in some folks or contact the ones living there in order to learn, how to best get the US to adapt to Changes, and do their thing.
About China to overtake the whole world in terms of economics or ethologic views, I'm unsettled to what other choice could be worse. If we had some kind of future islamisation, as some of the German bonkers minded fear this?
Better the Chinese would, since they usually do not kill LGBTI+.

Re: Do you think China will overtake the US as a superpower?
China is not a superpower and with its current government never will be.
It's a dictatorship with no message that the rest of the world is willing to accept. If Zimbabwe or Zaire accepts it is no sign that it is valid. The US is on a slow downward path to oblivion with an imbecile as president. Trump is a bombastic narcissistic twat who for all his faults put America first . That's what ALL presidents should do.
Biden is a stupid old fart who is a total embarrassment to America and the sooner he karks it (dies) the better for America. Anyone who voted for Biden should be locked up with the criminally insane as that's what they are.
How can anyone say that Biden is FIT to be president is beyond me.

What standard are you qualifying against to define a superpower that China isn’t meeting?
Are you suggesting that China, one of five permanent members of the UN Security Council, is somehow a state which the rest of the world doesn’t recognise as sovereign?
What are you talking about?

Happy Birthday Marmaduke!
OT:
China definately has the makings of a superpower. I'm not sure it's quite there yet, but it most definately has it's own world order it is seeking to establish and it's own political style it seeks to export elsewhere. It has broad territorial ambitions with most of it's geographic neighbours, a strong, robust economy and alot of ambitions around future cultural and technological achievements. Hell, it's engaging in it's own form of colonisation in Western parts of it's own country, settling Xinjiang and Tibet with Hans.
It pretty much has all the makings of a superpower in waiting.
As to the US.
I'd be the first to say Biden is unfit for office, but Trump was hardly suitable. He was entirely inappropriate for office. He is the poster child for all the ills to be found in nepotism. That those ills furnished him with a sense of entitlement and self assurance that appealled to the disenfranchised of the US, who elected him out of desperation or exasperation with the establishment, doesn't make him a good president.
I guess the real question should be: Can the US be regarded as a superpower anymore? Again, that comes back to how we classify a superpower. Whatever way you slice it, the US is too busy navel gazing to be effective on the international stage (and ofcourse, Biden not helping on that front)

Trump and Biden are both exemplars of fitness for office. They are Maxentius and Valens. They are the men created and raised up by empire in decline. The only question in my mind is whether the Canadians have it in them to play the role of the Goths and finish the job.

Really?... you have met the Canadians right?
They are too nice to be the goths, can you see them running around, sacking Washington? Unless you count 1812 I guess. But that was an aberration.
Their more likely to come and rearrange the furniture abit. Maybe make some strong worded suggestions. Before apologising for being forward.

Only if the US allows. Unfortuately, from an ousiders perpective, that is just what is happening given the recent shambles.

Because the US has shown itself to be super effective in exerting diplomatic influence on Beijing?
What form has that taken so far? You banned Huawei and they basically just rolled over and said “ok then”? What did you get from that?
Even if China didn’t have the military power and the financial position to fuck you any way it wanted if it decided to retaliate, the state’s insular position of not giving a fuck about anything that isn’t China makes them all-but-impossible to engage with. You have nothing they want and they make everything you want.
