US Elects first Transgender Rep
Danica Roem has unseated Virgina's "chief homophobe", Republican Robert G. Marshall, the incumbent for 25 years, with a 54% vote. Never heard of a House of Delegates but well done America. That's progress.

State representative. I'm pretty sure she's not the first trans person elected to state legislature, though I imagine she's the first in Virginia.

I've read she's the first to be elected while out, but don't know the veracity of that.

Yay - I saw that freaking Caitlyn posted about this on twitter. There's no republicans in foxholes only they ultimately go progressive and not to heaven.
