I agree on this only, people often find themselves in manipulative relationships. Whilst it's easy to say in hindsight, at the time the alternative might have seemed worse to the OP.

But that's exactly to my point, that they allow themselves to be manipulated by a BF, of what sounded like not a very long relationship. His post gave no indication of being held at gun point or any extensive coercion other than BF wanting it and offering to pay for it.

He actually agreed to go into a (minor) surgery where they were going to lop off part of his body. I would have spent quite a bit of time and consideration on that one. That's not an "I was drunk and got a tattoo" event.

I seriously do not get people who allow themselves to be in that kind of manipulative relationship. I can't stand to even be around it. I took a trip by motorcycle over the summer. The gay couple turned out to be very much that way. After a few days I couldn't take being around it anymore and split.
