Falling for a religious straight guy

Unread postby bmf » 9 October 2020, 07:27

Hi everyone,

I've just registered on here, so am posting to see if anyone has had a similar experience to mine.

I enjoy the fantasy that it is, before I snap back into reality, but here goes: I met an American straight man through instagram who does music and photography quite extensively, much like I do. He is also unbelievably handsome - if I could've drawn my perfect man, he would've been the drawing. He communicates his emotions through his songs quite deeply and extensively, and conveys the beauty of the world through his colorful vivid pictures. He visibly takes care of himself, grooms his beard very carefully and definitely enjoys taking a lot of selfies. Very extrovert. Overall, he seems like a very dear and nice fella, and he has those happy-sad puppy eyes, that in my opinion suggest a lot of depth of character.

As I've gathered, he is single, lives alone, but has kids, and is in his 50s. He is also VERY Christian and patriotic. Jesus is everything to him, and he writes a lot of songs about it. Lives in a small town and respects the flag.

I never fall for men so easily, especially not online, and especially not straight (unless they're Bryan Cranston), but I really fell for this guy. I've never met anyone who's as passionate about both music AND photography as much as myself, and also being so extrovert and jolly. We're a world apart, so I know nothing's gonna happen anytime soon, or ever, but we do chat here and there about music and photos. My Instagram is clearly gay, and he hasn't unfriended me yet, but he ain't liking my shirtless pics either.

So, like I said, I enjoy the fantasy when I have the time, but it's not distracting. Still, when I do travel back to where he lives (because I lived nearby once), I'm gonna give 'it' a shot and see how he feels. I know the do's and don't's of seducing a straight guy, so it's a fun game and I have nothing to lose, and no one can get hurt.

I was interested if anyone here had any similar experiences?

I don't think it's a problem, and you shouldn't feel uncomfortable or have any doubts about it, because we are all human and have the right to love. I have a lot of straight friends with whom we go here every Sunday https://firstchurchlove.com, and everything is normal. Because we do not have to differentiate or set them aside, we are all human and have the right to love. You have to get used to it because from the beginning, you have the impression that something is not going well, but in fact, they are perfect, and if honest with them, I get along better than others. So still normal, you don't have to worry.
