Help. Conundrum.
Single guy here ready to stop being single. But in dating, how do I know the difference between being in love with him or thinking that I am because I'm in love with the idea of being in love?

Re: Help. Conundrum.
I've been there. I think, it's how much you care about him as a person, are you excited to see him, do you think about him and his wellbeing? Do you have an active interest in his life, his thoughts and ideas? When he is down, do you want to lift him up? Do you think about what a life with this guy might look like, not the basic relationhip stuff that all relationships have, but a life with this guy in particular?
How does he make you feel? When you with him, when your away from him.
Is any excitement, more about being involved with "someone" rather than with him in specific?
What does he satisfy in you? Perhaps most importantly, would you sacrifice for him? How important is his happiness to you?

A favorite Buddhist parable:
A flower you like is one you pick.
A flower you love is one you water, tend to and nurture.

I am a work in progress. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live my live my own way.

It's impossible not to notice it. You go crazy over it. You have to stop yourself from sending the person messages all the time and you want to leave everything you're doing just to see them. You'll know, man, you'll know. You've probably felt it before, no?
