How are you doing with Sexual Shame?

Unread postby locker302 » 13 July 2022, 19:42

Where are you on your sexual shame journey? Where are some areas that you want to improve on? Do you find it difficult to talk about certain aspects of your sexuality, especially in person?

Tell me your thoughts and stories! I'm very spiritual and into personal development so I want to talk a lot about this kind of stuff.

I don't think I've ever felt ashamed, in person or online. I've actually been accused of shameless oversharing  which is why I try to keep it in. :P

I think my sexual shame is getting better ever since I came out to my family and friends. They were so accepting that a lot of my shame went away.

I think it depends on your upbringing and the people you surround yourself with: personally I was on the contrary: I grew up a heterosexual with a normal sexual life for a young man. Then in my mid 20s I had a mountain bike accident that damaged the nerves in my penis. I felt shame for the year afterwards of not having a single satisfying sexual encounter; I was embarrassed... then I had my first sexual encounter with a man. I was forward with him about my issues and so he invited me to his hotel. I remember feeling a bit of a "Am I gay?" feeling as soon as we were both naked and I was kissing him and touching him down there. I was nervous when we first started, I remember breathing heavily and my heartbeating away, but I think I was more afraid of physical pain than the shame thing... he kept me calm, kissed me lots, asked if I was doing alright. Finally he came and he collapsed on me, telling me how good I was and how much he enjoyed it. We cuddled and kissed. Having my first successful sexual encounter in over a year (and probably that would be ongoing if not for bottoming).

I’m about to find out…lol

My ex- girlfriend knew about it and she was ok about it. I could never satisfy a woman sexually like I can with men, I always been told by men I was very good and they wanted to see me again, this was never like this with women at all.
