To practice safe sex make sure you have a shower and use mouthwash.

For people living in Canada, your local Health Unit, usually next to or near a hospital, gives them out for free, as well.

The only time to practice unprotected sex is with a partner you know is clean, and with a self that you also know is clean. I'm just lucky enough to be clean, as is my current... friend. So we're unprotected, but still safe. Yay!

Safe sex is not something that should be taken lightly. I guess the only time i would be okay with bareback or raw sex is when you are in a monogamous relationship and both had already been tested and cleared.

There's really not much of a philosophy, just use sex for anal intercourse. The HIV being transmited during oral sex is only theoritical, though there are few reported cases (who anyway, can't be confirmed,as many of the people who have oral, also have anal sex,so the STD might be caused by condom failure). Some experts say there may be some low risk if you have open cuts in your mouth,so the HIV in the cum of the pre-cum,can directly come in touch with the blood. So it's up to you if you decide to use condoms for oral sex.

Also, please don't google much about HIV,and don't judge your condition by symptoms.I used to drive myself crazy and got tested weekly, even if I always use condoms and my sex-history is pretty weak.

HIV transmission via oral, whilst quite unlikely, is certainly not "theoretical".

Someone needs to make a post on how HIV is not solely by able to be acquired through anal sex. In order for HIV to be transmitted orally, you would have to nearly be engaging in it with open wounds inside your mouths.

I mean hell, heterosexual couples, although extremely unlikely, can also contract HIV but the extent of which is extremely difficult to obtain because of how flexible palpable and resilient the vagina is. Unless the person takes a knife to their clitoris they won't be contracting anything anytime soon (that's of the usual sort anyways).

Unlike the anus, which is extremely fragile in comparison therefore vulnerable to tears, scratches, etc, anything that can register as a wound and making it very unsafe for any kind of sexual activities out of fear of sharing bodily fluids or bacteria.

To clarify, bodily fluids would be saliva, blood or sperm.

Even then you could risk getting an UTI. So it's something to do when you are totally sure.

I'm so safe about sex I use a condom when I masturbate so I won't catch anything from myself.
Doctors and nurses get a kick out of that every time I get a chance to say it.

There are already too many serious people in the world, IMO.

I thought this video was pretty great (although I do have unprotected sex with my boyfriend, but we've been in a monogamous, committed relationship for a few years already and still get tested regularly), and I like this youtuber :)

Ditto on this. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get cum on your eye during a facial and the person is HIV+ , you can get HIV correct?

Also I should note that while risk of HIV while performing a bj on someone is low, there are far worse nasties (imho) that you can get.

And posting this link again for those guys interested in learning about the dramas of HIV

It's funny how everyone online wants to project a PC view on safe sex, but my experience is that if you meet them (meaning people who put safe sex only in their online profiles) in real life most of them look for the slightest excuse not to use a condom.

Him: Hey, you have a condom?
Me: No.
Him: Oh.
Me: You don't have to use one.
Him. OK.
(short while later)
Him: Oh God, I'm cumming in your ass, faggot.

My personal view is everyone should have safe or bareback if they so desire without any shame about it. I only top BB because I can't with a condom (I'm not very good either way, though ... bottom bitch here). When I bottom, I let the top choose, though I always suggest bareback. Given the choice, I find it's like 9 out of 10 guys will prefer the bareback. Which works out for me -- nothing better than an ass full of cum.

I have a question. Our sex ed at school was rubbish and not very informative at all and I'm feeling very naive

If you have sex with someone who is HIV+ and you caught it, if you get tested the day after the sex, would the test show up positive? Or would you have to wait a while before it would show up in a test?

Does that make sense?
