If the guy is clean neither taste nor smell of shit are a problem while rimming.
The only reason they can potentially be a problem during actual anal(though the vast majority of the time they aren't) is because you go very deep into an area where, quite frankly, poo is usually stored - that doesn't have anything to do with taking a shower either, only an enema can clean that section. If you're unlucky there might be an accident - so what? You take a shower(together) and just continue with oral or switch positions.
