My mom cracks me up.
Having started dating again in her 60s after grieving the loss of my dad 2 years ago, my mom was stunned by the attention she got and found a boyfriend, a widower himself (his wife died 21 years ago). Just met him for the first time on this trip. Very sweet guy and they're incredibly happy together. Seeing them gushing and sending each other cute texts and stuff is pretty surreal. I know my dad would have been glad to know she'd find a good guy once he was gone.
Anyway, as part of one of the first stories she told about him at a family Christmas dinner in front of her son, son-in-law, daughter, cousin, cousin-in-law *and the boyfriend himself*, she casually mentioned how he's very good in the bedroom.
He could see where it was headed (not the first time apparently) and was already saying "Don't say the thing... don't say the thing... don't say the thing..."
Like, thanks mom, very happy for you but not totally sure I needed to know that. Poor guy.
(She is Dutch and has no filter. Also one of the first things she said after meeting my and Brenden's boyfriend for the first time, together with the rest of the family (over video due to pandemic), was that it's gotta be nice that with three people there's probably always someone in the mood for sex.
)
This is a 64-year-old Christian grandmother who goes to church every Sunday, by the way, hahaha. I love her.

Re: My mom cracks me up.
It really is surreal for a person to realize their parents are people rather than just parents.

Sometimes even old people gotta get out and live a little. Sounds like the relationship is cute and glad your mom is enjoying life after the death of your dad.
