Why does he need to be called anything other than by his name/nickname?

If you're looking for a 'special' word like "gay" or "bi" or "queer" and this is a linguistic question, then probably just "a man who is attracted to feminine ..." (folks, is "shemale" still safe? I kind of thought it had gone out of fashion and believe some trans people consider it offensive, but clearly I still see it here and there) Anyway, whatever words you use, I'd suggest finding one that's respectful of the people you are attracted to and this might mean paying attention to the individual you are interested in and how they talk about themselves.

I also have to wonder if this is a fetish or if you're willing to accept the whole person as an equal who you can commit to and build a healthy relationship with. My hope is the latter.

I don't know about the word "shemale" specifically, but here in Brazil someone who's called a "tranvestite" is a person who feels like a woman, or enjoys presenting themselves as women, without necessarily wanting to go through surgery or get rid of their penises. They often have boob implants and butt-lifts and all that jazz, but they like using their dick. While transexual is a person who truly wishes to go through the transition and be fully transitioned.

Anyway, usually the answer is that a guy who enjoys transexual women or "shemales" is just a straight guy. But if someone is exclusively attracted to shemales, then I wonder if at some point someone actually created a term to describe it. I bet there are people with that specific sexuality but I don't think I've ever heard a name for it. And it doesn't really matter anyway.

Well I know a word, or it's localization, will vary from country to country. "Shemale" might still be acceptable in other languages either as a direct import from English or in some localized format that may or may not be a translation from English into the local language or even another tongue.

When I taught English in Japan, my students were forever asking the question, "What's the word for ...?" My understanding is that frequently new words are created in Japanese that may be a transliteration "birru" from the English "beer" but there is also "biru" (notice the slight change in spelling which effects the pronunciation) for both "building" and "bill". But those are loan words.

I can't think of a good example of what, at one time, was a neologism so I'll use the following as an example: "man" is 男 (otoko) and "woman" is 女性 (josei - there might be other 'readings' - Japanese is very complicated) but 男女 (using the Chinese characters for man/male and woman/female) creates a new word read "danjo" which I understand to mean "men and women" but it might have other readings as well. My Japanese is very rudimentary at best, so I can't guarantee that I haven't misrepresented the language a bit, but the idea is that characters (as well as phonetic syllables) can be mixed and matched to create new words.

I was unclear of the OP was asking for a single word that equals "a man called if he is attracted to feminine shemales" or what. I don't believe I've come across such a word in English, but there certainly could be slang that's used in that specific community. We just need to wait for a community member to chime in (or someone who knows the community).

And I have to ask, are there men who are attracted to MASCULINE shemales?
