I just can't get on with Kale. It's soooo bitter. But cashews! Yummy. I like pecans too! Any kind of nuts really. Oh, except macadamia. Gross.

Also gross, I ate a whole giant pack of brazils a few weeks ago and shat peanut butter for days 🥜

Yeah, maybe don't do that.

I've never found kale stuff that's been prepared for me bitter. This smoothie was certainly sweet and nice.

Ever had kale chips? They're not hard to make. Crispy with some salt, they can be really good while retaining all the health benefits. :keke:

Yeah, it was the chunky kind. I learned my lesson.
TMI? I'm always with the TMI.

It might just be me. But I get it with alot of leafy greens. I find they have a really terribly bitter taste. Some lettuce I just can't touch. Thank the stars I can eat spinach cos that shit is amazing.

I wouldn't mind trying kale chips.... but I suspect I wouldn't like em. But I'd try it.

I've never liked Brazil nuts. They always taste either rancid or flavourless.

The roasting with olive oil removes the bitterness!

I inherited my love of Brazil nuts from my mum. It's true if you buy certain off brand types of Brazil, some can have a less tasty flavour but I love the taste of the good ones! Nom nom nom. Maybe too much nom nom nom, but yummy anyways. Love almonds too.

See I've never roasted kale. Perhaps that's the problem.

I really want to get my healthy food plan back in place but I've had a fierce appetite for all things bad.

Watching a wonderful chef on YouTube hasn't helped. He is so adorable! Not sexy. I might have mentioned him before. Jean Pierre. But he loves butter and so do I. Everything tastes better with butter. And salt. With more butter.

I recently polished off a whole punnet of strawberries dipped in fresh cream custard (then drank the remaining custard  )

Then there was the rich beef gravy with lashings of butter to give it a silky creamy texture.

Egyptian Bassbousa cake. Trifle with home made custard (and zero fruit  ) the chocolate ganache torte and boys, I make an amazing ganache!

Honestly I could go on but it's a bizarre hybrid of food porn and a breakdown of the things that will likely be the cause of my impending coronary.

It's like my libido has been entirely sublimated with a desire for food.

I'm staying under my bmi for "overweight" but only just.

Don't get me started on cheese! I normally don't much care for it. But I've been exploring cheese recently. Smoked Bavarian, port salt, jarlsberg, jacksomethig. I can't really tell the differences very much, except the barbarian bavarian smoked variety

I’m too lazy to find the related drinking thread, so I’ll post here.

Anyway, I’m drinking a nice blend of earl grey made by Harney and Sons, called ‘Earl Grey Supreme.’ Also a couple months ago I tried Twinings’ jasmine green tea and it tastes quite good,. I’d recommend both!

Lastly, I discovered a few weeks ago that my therapist doesn’t drink tea and can pretty much count the occasions he has on his fingers. Isn’t that peculiar??

I recently came across a YouTube foodie named Adam Radusea. He did a video about non-maple tree-sap syrups recently that blew my mind! I really want to try natural hickory and walnut syrups now.

I love a nice slice of lightly-toasted sourdough with salted butter and some extra salt sprinkled on top.

You should try intermittent fasting. Even just one day a week of fasting can really improve your metabolism by soft resetting insulin tolerance. Also/or, keeping eating to an 8-hour window with 16 hours of no eating a day (including sleeping).

Back when I smoked and vaped, I pretty much lived on a fasting diet. I'd eat a small meal, once a day. Which consisted of probably half my caloric intake. I'd snack on bad things, chocolate, cakes etc until I started making an effort to be fit (mid to late 20's) then switched to healthier stuff. But still lived on a calorie controlled diet, purely by accident.

I anticipated not smoking, to change both my metabolism and my appetite.

What I hadn't anticipated were a number of other changes.

One of which means I actually can't fast for long without unfortunate consequences, so once I have decided to end my gastronomic adventures and go back to healthy living, ill have to compensate differently.

But thank you for the suggestion!

What do corn dogs taste like? We see them in tvshows from the states but we don't have them here.

I get the impression they are super bad for you. Which means they should be yummy right?

They're pretty good. Delicious, even, if they're fresh. It's hard go wrong with deep-fried cornmeal batter.

You could make them yourself pretty easily if you have something to fry them in. You'd want an American style pork sausage though.
