It’s been over a month since I stopped smoking. I miss it, but I won’t start back up again. I’m happy we’re at least saving money by doing this.

Good luck and I’m proud that you are trying to quit… nicotine is very hard to quit. Keep up the good work!

Are you using the patch or how do you keep the craving under control?

Im so glad I’m not a smoker since I don’t have very much will power to stop bad habits.

I quit completely cold turkey. It was awful for the first four days, but frankly I’ve been through way worse situations than that in my life.

Tom Daley won gold! :awesome: Aren’t you guys so happy for him? We’ve seen him grow up all these years to reach the moment he’s been waiting for. His dad would’ve been super proud.

I’m actually in the black this month money-wise. It’s mainly because (surprise surprise) I’m not smoking anymore. :P

My raspberry and dark chocolate banana bread has turned out pretty well. Everyone at work's been baking, and we've managed to pull of an entire month of cake. Cake everyday. This is the last cake.

It's been amazing. I'm a fat guy now.

Close call between the rhubarb & strawberry sponge and the baked orange cheesecake. The tablet, whilst technically not a cake, was also good, what with being pure sugar and all.

I relapsed about 3 weeks ago with a single cigarette which was gross. This is the quitting that’s going to stick, as I don’t even miss it anymore now. My wallet certainly doesn’t.

Did you get that nauseated feeling? That was a clincher for me. I recall feeling so sick to my stomach from having a cigarette after having given up for awhile, that it pretty much assured I lost interest.

Well, that and my exploding lung I guess.

Only slightly because I knew when it was time to stop. My big problem with it was how gross it tasted.

I remember you talking about the lung issues awhile back. :(

It does taste horrible huh? Like, the same way an ashtray smells, but in your mouth. It's like you never noticed it before. :blargh:

Oh my lungs are okay, whats left of 'em :P I have some awesome scars now, so thats something. :monocle:

I must say, i still miss smoking sometimes and I bet you'll get the same, but the more distance you put between "smoker you" and the current you, I think, the easier it gets to look at all that time of fighting through and feeling like it isn't something you want to waste.

Some dude at Kroger asked me my age and asked me if I was single… I told him I was but I’m not looking for anyone… he said I was beautiful though… no creepy vibes or anything and didn’t push the issue. It feels nice getting randomly complemented by someone without the creepy vibes.
