It’s hard finding good doctors really. Especially depending on where you live. Same with counselors. Plus depending on your issues you gotta find a counselor that has experience with or is specializes in certain things. Like trauma or even those with borderline personality disorder. Some refuse to see people with Borderline. Depression issues tend to be easier to find. Sad thing is, even in the mental health community people discriminate against those with whatever the issue they might have. I’ve been up in this bitch for over 11 years. 11 years of different DX’s and RX’s and have came to the conclusion that my issues are schizophrenia and PTSD.

I agree with what you said about it being hard to find good counsellors. And while it might make sense that it would be easy to find a "good" counselor for depression, I can tell you from first hand experience that this is, sadly, not the case.

When I was 13, I had a severe brain injury. It did not mess with my cognition, but it still extensively altered the course of my life. I won't go into details because we'd literally be here for hours. So, thankfully for my family, our church back in Indiana did a tremendously amazing job of supporting us. But they tried too hard. Our church reached out to us to see if we need anything more. My parents told them they needed help finding me a good therapist as I was severely depressed and had overwhelming suicidal thoughts. So what did the church do? They gave me a family therapist who worked for the church. Basically, it was like using a squirt gun to fight a wildfire.

Fast forward a year. God was really watching out for me because my dad got offered a job in Colorado. So we moved, and it was the best thing for me. I got on board with a pediatric rehabilitative neuropsychologist (read: a therapist who specifically deals with brain injuries in children and adolescents). This time, we were fighting a wildfire with one of those 747s. This lady helped me through so much. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say I would be six feet in the ground if it weren't for her.

Well I didn’t say that they’d be easy to find one. A good one that is. More so easier as compared to other issues. Most counselors aren’t bad but a lot are. I was kicked out the house where they had counselors there and therapy. I couldn’t think what I wanted to talk about and I said idk if I’m ready for therapy or not. She ended up telling me that I was waiting her time. She escorted me out the house.

I want to see Armie Hammer unleash his fury on Timothée Chalamet’s ass. I think to up the ante, they need to do method acting. The Academy loves that kind of stuff and it would be a breakthrough to see them prepare for the role by engaging in countless hours of passionate (yet professional!), violent sex.

I don't know how many mg of THC is typical, but I hope you will be very careful and start with teeny tiny bites. It's so easy to overdo it with edibles apparently. I imagine especially when schizophrenia is involved...

And I do hope there is also CBD in those candies! Since that works as an antipsychotic and reduces side effects while also making THC more effective in other ways.

My first cannabis experience was with my homemade hash hot chocolate (before I got my first vapouriser). I had a lot of fun and it lasted all day

I’ve had mix results with different strains of weed when smoking shatter (dabs/wax). I was extremely paranoid with one strain while I was giggly and slap happy. I’m not use to a lot of thc and it took only one small hit to get high on the shatter. What I’m getting is straight from a dispensary in California. Much cheaper than here in Ohio. Plus I know what I’m getting is safe vs on the street. I’m getting hard candy so I’ll suck on it and stuff and should kick in.

We got lucky yesterday. The place we are getting edibles and wax had been raided but luckily she left our stuff elsewhere. We’re still getting ours in the mail. Hopefully we’ll be good.

By the way, happy 4/20... told my moms cousin is either hit the bud or wax at 4:20 today.

I am 55 years old and am beginning a potentially long-term relationship with a cardiologist (non-romantic). He prescribed a daily dose of atorvastatin calcium. My cholesterol is in the "concerning" range; well below "alarming". My diet is fairly good, with a wide variety of fresh veggies, whole grains, and little beef or pork; and I exercise regularly. This means "lifestyle changes" probably have little to offer.

Given the average age of members here, I doubt there is much collective experience in this department. Still, I am open to hearing any informed opinions on statin drugs in general and atorvastatin specifically.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm not a medical expert. However, I've gotten interested in whole food plant based diets. One proponent I like is Garth Davis, a doctor who got interested when he wanted to lower his own cholesterol level. In one video, he commented that at first he still ate some animal products, but cholesterol didn't come down as much as he'd like. "YMMV" (and again I'm not any expert) but severely limiting/eliminating animal products might help.

I'm on coconut tarts. I didn't eat much else, so two bits of these won't make me go Jabba the hutt :

Later I will have rice / soy milk, I think.
And melancholy, that I'm on. Makes one write stirring stories and sad songs.

tried edibles. Freak out before going into bloodwork... then get food to sober you up before going for bloodwork. I managed to get sober... talk out my ass... finally come home after a while. Thinking of drinking some thc slushies... oh and munchies and possibly ribs if that happens or not. It is making me hungry.

I read that as "I ate 16 4000mg brownies" and immediately hit reply to ask if you were still on planet earth, or had instead transcended into hyperspace.

How much was "1/6th of some brownies"? I had 50mg or something once, and that was totally outrageous, so I think I'd probably visit Andromeda on 4000.

I ate like a big bite basically about 1/6 of that single brownie. 666 mg at most
