Gay men - if you could, would you be a woman instead?

If someone gave you a pill that would turn you into an attractive, fully functional / biological woman overnight, would you take it? Assuming all your friends and family would already know you as a "woman" the next day (i.e. you're not having to come out to anyone as 'trans' or anything like that)...your friends and family would see you as a woman/you would have always been a woman in their memory.

Can we also forget about the stereotypical gender roles when answering the question (i.e. "No because I wouldn't want to have periods"...or things like "child birth" etc...as I believe these are some things that women themselves don't exactly "love" either)...

For me, the answer has always been "yes"...Yes, I would take that pill as I believe it would make my life a whole lot easier and it would make a lot more sense for me to be a woman in the society that we live in (I am a pretty feminine guy, but nothing too over the top). Even though my answer is yes, I don't think of myself as "trans" as I have absolutely no desire to "transition", take hormones, have any surgeries, or be referred to as "she" whatsoever (I *would* if I was a woman; but I am not).

I'm not a troll and happy to clarify why I'm asking this question, but this post is already pretty long as it is...so maybe later.

Would you make the same choice if being an attractive woman wasn’t a guaranteed outcome?

Good point. For me, the answer would still be Yes. For the sake of the question - let's just say you wouldn't be absolutely hideous or disfigured or anything like that. Anything that's "wrong" with you (as a "woman") you'd be able to change (e.g. going to the gym, using skincare products etc, minor procedures/surgeries if really unhappy with your appearance etc).

Not to suggest that a pill which simultaneously changes your gender and the memories of everyone you’ve ever met is in any sense feasible, but I feel like you’re making your proposition more and more difficult to suspend disbelief in by conveniently excluding negative factors from due consideration. You’re heavily biasing your ridiculous premise to its detriment.

For the sake of trying to make the question interesting, would you take the pill today if the physical change was completely random and the memories of the others in your life remained completely unchanged?

Not really. Being a woman doesn't sound that pleasant.

NO! That would ruin the whole point of being a man attracted to men. Scruff snuggles. Cock battles. Wrestling for pole position. Spooning with erections... I could go on.

I'm already an attractive, fully functional / biological man by night and day.

I think the problem is that most of us here are men that are attracted to men. If we suddenly changed into a woman and everybody remembers us as a woman, our men that likes men brain is still in our body. We'd probably end up being trans gay men. Which actually sounds a whole lot more difficult than just being a gay man. :/

Definitely not. I have no interest in being a woman.

Interesting! I 100% do NOT have this strong of a connection to being a "man". It's making me think I must be genderfluid (or somewhere on the spectrum of not identifying with "the gender I was assigned at birth").

With masculine gay men, I totally get your reactions and points that you made (e.g. having sex as a masculine guy with another masculine guy etc).

I was mainly curious to hear from really feminine gay men ( I should've probably clarified this in my original question) such as myself (i.e. smooth body, skinny, makeup, total bottom etc). If any of these type of guys are in here, do you ever wonder if you'd be better of living as a woman? (Because I do, clearly!)

Thanks for your help guys

What is the point of being a woman?
It s like saying the pill can make me straight! This is how i understand this perspective. I think that we are our experiences and struggles... i believe if i was a woman i would maybe be attrackted to women as i am gay... well it s a funny game

Yeah, to me, "a pill that would make you straight" is a different scenario as it would require a change in the wiring of your brain (changing your personality slightly). My question (again, I should've worded it better) was purely about - would you take a pill that would give you a female body. A pill that would turn you (physically) male to female with no hassle. Something that would be given to all transgender individuals (born male) automatically (as they could then fully transition hassle-free).

For all of you, the answer to my question is "no"...most likely because you are all "men" in your brain, so, taking a pill that would give you a female body, would make no sense and would be harmful to all of you. This obviously tells me a lot about myself, which, I had hoped it would; so, thanks again!

Ehh... I probably definitely would have as a teen to attract straight boys lol.

Like, I'm not really in love with myself only for being a man. Idk. I like the male body but it's not like I'd be terrified of not being a male. If I were to suddenly be a woman, I wouldn't be devastated. But it's not something I'd be seeking out. Like, periods are an intrinsic part of being a biological woman, for example. To eliminate them is so unrealistic, even for this scenario.

Another thing is that I'm fully conscious of the privileges men have in my awfully patriarchical society, even effeminate ones. I don't want to give them up.

No. I am not transgender. I am very fem and have crossdressed for fun, but taking a role of a girl is way different from actually being a woman.

It wasn't only masculine gay men that replied to you. I'm a total bottom myself and I'm happy about being a man, I wouldn't change anything and I prefer gay sex to vanilla straight sex. I'm also happy with the men that I can get with and it wouldn't be better if I could get with straight men (in fact, I have a feeling it would be worse, with all the dumb shit they pull on their partners all the time).

There's nothing that makes me want to be a woman at all. I think this goes beyond your sexuality, dude.

That's what I had to look like everyday for work and my answer remains the same.

Yeah this is similar to what I'm feeling. Except maybe that I would actively "transition" if there was a way of doing it (by having a magic pill).

Eryx wrote:I'm a total bottom myself and I'm happy about being a man

So you don't receive blowjobs, and you never top, correct? Because this is what I meant by being a "total bottom".

Eryx wrote:I'm also happy with the men that I can get with and it wouldn't be better if I could get with straight men (in fact, I have a feeling it would be worse, with all the dumb shit they pull on their partners all the time).

Whoa! You're not being straight-phobic there by any chance, are you? :P You wouldn't like it if a straight man talked about all the "dumb shit that gay guys do".

Eryx wrote:I think this goes beyond your sexuality, dude.

Of course. This is mainly about gender identity.

Jryski wrote:That's what I had to look like everyday for work and my answer remains the same.

Thanks! Have you ever gone through a period of questioning your gender? If so, what was "the moment" for you that made you realize that you're definitely a man?
