Don't know how to meet people

When I came out it was only to a few people, because of complex health issues.

Because of a weaken immune system, after a transplant, I don't know how to go out and meet people. I'm forced to be like Howie Mandel, where I have to be careful of germs (not as much as him thankfully).

If I go to a bar, I've got to have coke, not talking about powder, the soda... There are so many limits.

How could I tell a date or ask them if they are clean? Did they test for sti, hiv, etc.?

Thanks.

While I empathize immensely with your plight, not sure this is the best place for advice. Most of us are just trying to avoid the usual bugs and such. We don't have this level of experience.

Have you been in contact with a support group? How do other young people with your diagnosis go about meeting and making friends?

I do think you might find other things to talk about here. What do you enjoy? Check around and find (or start) threads that interest you. You can (safely) talk and make friends that way.

Thanks for your response!

Support group (during covid) what's that . Unfortunately they're all closed in my area. One would believe, esp. with Gen Z'ers, there would be meetings via zoom, webex, etc.

Just thinking maybe someone here may have had transplant and wonder what they've told others.

I know for sure I can at least always bitch about my *exclusive* priority for covid vaccination!
