impeachment is a legal inquiry and does not remove the president from office in it self.

will it all end up like the 3 page special prosecutor's 2 year investigation that basically affirming the Trump presidency?

An impeachment isn’t really an enquiry. If Trump is eventually impeached, that impeachment is the formal notification that an enquiry has been undertaken, has concluded and that Congress believes there is sufficient evidence for the Senate to try the President on the facts of that charge against him.

If a decision to impeach is delivered by congress, it will be very unlikely to run to 3 pages. Think of it as an indictment, it is merely a statement of the charges against him.

There is no context is which an indictment of a sitting President may be reasonably interpreted as an affirmation of that presidency. It is a diametrically opposed thing by it’s very nature to an affirmation.

I would say it is extremely unlikely that Donald Trump wants to be impeached. A learned man, he may not be. But he’s not stupid.

with all this impeachment looks like Biden Sr is out of the running due to his son being on the wrong board of director's employ.

If you feel capable, you could use more than two sentences at a time. You aren’t sending these messages by telegram, nobody is charging you by the letter to talk to us.

Mueller’s report was 448 pages long you nitwit, and it basically concluded, under the legal assumption that a sitting president can’t be prosecuted, that there was obstruction of justice but that it’s Congress’ sole responsibility to take action (i.e., impeachment).

We could experiment with fewer sentences, too.

once Trump is impeached it will be up to the Republican controlled Senate to process the impeachment. It is likely the Senate will remain loyal to the president. POTUS elections are a year+ out and by then the voters will have forgotten all this. Un likely but if things do go sideways for Trump he will resign like Nixon. Pence will become president. Not a big liberal win.

the Mueller report was a disaster for the Democrats. Even Mueller was un familiar with his report when he testified before congress.
At the start of the Mueller report Tump declared "I'm fucked" but in the end it was an affirmation Trump can do no wrong.
Trump said; "I Could Stand In the Middle Of 5th Av and shoot somebody. I Wouldn't Lose Any Voters"

same thingy will happen with the impeachment process.

My guess is at this point he is definitely going to be successfully impeached. I can't help but thing the Democrats have intentionally delayed this so that the Republicans will be late having a replacement candidate (cause Pense won't cut it for them IMO). Actually that's a pretty decent strategy to win the next election.

I think we’re setting the bar rather low. He needs to be criminally tried and incarcerated. He needs to be made an example of or else other politicians will see this twisted experiment of an administration as what they can get away with.

Y'all are kidding if you think any of that is ever going to happen.

In the end he will take the Nixon way out (resignation) but only after making it the biggest shit show he can - seems to be his motivation.

Sucks that he will walk away unpunished but that's what's gonna happen.

I cannot imagine Trump would ever resign: it would be an admission of defeat or wrongdoing. He still thinks he is the best thing to ever happen to this universe.

With a bit of luck this will be a win/win for the nation. Trump will hopefully be impeached and removed (unlikely) or lose the 2020 election (odds are improving). Trump's base will only feel he is being wrongly accused and abused, but the more reasonable elements of the party and independents are seeing the insanity of his actions. If the Dems can only get their shit together and put forward an electable candidate, the following 4 years may be more tolerable.

I know I will never marry Justin Bieber but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t keep trying.

All bullies in the end turn chicken shit. When it comes down to the choice of saving his ass from further prosecution he will resign. Unfair, as he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for the crimes he committed, but that's exactly what won't happen.

Which presidents have been impeached?
Only two US presidents have ever been successfully impeached and in neither instance was the president removed from office. Andrew Johnson was impeached in 1868 in the tumultuous aftermath of the American Civil War; and Bill Clinton in 1998 for issues including his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Both times, the House approved formal charges and impeached the president, only to have the Senate fail to convict and remove him.

The House Judiciary Committee in 1974 voted to recommend impeachment accusing another president, Richard Nixon, of planning to obstruct an investigation in the Watergate scandal. Before the full House could vote on impeachment, Nixon became the only US president ever to resign.

My prediction - Trump will be the 2nd after Nixon.

I guarantee you he will stay until the bitter end. I'd bet anything. And while we're betting, I'd take odds on him calling the process illegitimate (whether it's impeachment or losing the election) and threatening to stay, but ultimately backing down and going on to live to the age of 130 without ever losing the adoration of ~30% of the population.

Well we could bet "the looser must grant PB one wish"?

Pretty sure my fate would be shrivel up and die. However, I think the fate in store for you would be far worse.

I crack me up. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Since I work from home I've been listening to a great deal of this at least in the background. The republicans are not doing well ... OMG what a shit show that they deserve at this point.

While we’re at it, I’m going to bet that you’ll fail at attracting the guy of your dreams and instead will be finger-blasted by either Michael or me.
