I'm pretty sure it's time for a chart from a reputable source.

That doesn't change the fact that our government undertook those coups and embargoes, which are indeed the reasons many Central American countries are shattered societies people try to flee. Not accepting such people here, when American foreign policy is what forced them to attempt migration in the first place, seems pretty not okay to me—regardless of how many times an obnoxious word like entitlements can be written (as though public welfare even functionally exists in the U.S.).

We reap what we sow.

Hmm, I don’t know where he went but I’ll continue the theme.

So what you’re telling me with this graph is that Trump has been the greatest president we’ve had to stop those INVARDERS.

Not coincidentally, I think, the political base which has favored a vicious and self-serving foreign policy is exactly the same base whose rhetoric on immigration aligns with your own. The US has taken drastic measures to prop up governments in Latin America that ensure us favorable trade and access to resources. It seems like the least of what those of us who enjoy the benefits of living in an imperialistic society can do is accept the human cost.

Sorry, but it's not a great argument if all it is is "they're nicer than Americans".

That's the best argument there is. Marianne Williamson was right. This country is enveloped by dark psychic energy and I personally invite each and every one of you to come visit me so we can hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

I'm not a Trump supporter, didn't vote for him, and I'm not going to. I don't think being against or concerned about illegal immigration is a Trump Republican thing only. I mean prior to now, it's been a Democratic Party concern too. President Obama deported many and had the stance that it should be done legally. It seems kind of pointless talking about it now though, and nothing's really ever been seriously done about it. Millennials seem largely in favor, so I guess it's just a matter of time before these policies keep moving further left.

The issue with health care is that if you don’t provide it to everyone in your borders, whether they’re there legally or not, then medical problems will fester until they become expensive ambulance rides and emergency room visits while communicable diseases will have millions of potential vectors amongst the population.

Preventative and primary care is much, much cheaper.

Well that's typically how it goes. As time goes by more folks tend to lean left especially when it comes to social issues. It's not necessarily a bad thing but this is coming from someone who leans left on most issues

Again, it isn’t really a problem. It’s as much a “problem” as gay marriage or marijuana is a problem. There’s no immigrant crime wave (illegal immigrants are actually less likely to victimize you than a U.S. citizen of a crime), is not causing an economic disaster, are generally not eligible for entitlement programs and there is a decline in those who cross illegally. And as was pointed out earlier, it’s rather easy to adopt this law and order position when you conveniently ignore the meddling, coups and embargoes by the U.S. which contributed to the immigration situation we’ve seen for years.

Why do you think you thought immigration was at its highest ever when it turns out the opposite is true?

this year is the Mexican
go figure...

if immigrants were not able to get good jobs they would not be here (US). I say go after the employers.

On the topic of immigration again, am I alone in thinking that part of the magic of traveling to different countries is expecting that the majority of the locals there adhere to a certain historic ethnic and racial profile? Like, I don’t want to visit Shanghai and see a bunch of Mexicans, Indians and Britons. Kind of ruins the experience.

Oh yeah, we need to build walls and discourage people from immigrating to find a better life. It's more important that tourists in Bermuda shorts with cameras don't have their vacations "ruined".

Just a reminder to our American buddies that no matter who becomes the president hopeful, you’re voting for the ideals of the party rather than the face of it.

Unite.

The Democratic Party had control of the Presidency and both chambers of Congress between 20 January 2009 and 3 January 2011.

Like in 2016 with Hillary "It's My Turn" Clinton?

If they nominate Biden, I'm not voting. I'd rather have four more years of Trump than validate the undulating mass of nothing he represents.
