Well it's Eurovision at the end of the day, as opposed to EUvision. I suspect they may well try and maintain a position amongst the 'Big 5'. Either way though, I see that status as being of as much detriment as it is anything else. The UK would be likely to secure a place in the final at any rate, but its absence in the rest of the competition means the act doesn't get the kind of exposure that others might in the build up. By the time the final has come around, many people have already chosen 'favourites' so aside from the fact that the unpopularity of the UK (with most countries except perhaps Ireland) will likely cost votes so too will the status.

This is all of course speaking as if we were to leave the EU, of which I hope isn't something that happens.
