The music is melodic but never simplistic, the lyrics are intelligent and intelligible, the cinematography was mind blowing, the script is funny and touching without ever resorting to sentimentality and the two leads are not only skillful but full of a kind of charm. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone had great chemistry and were so awesome in the film!

Damien Chazelle has proved himself to be one of the most talented directors/screenwriters in film right now.

I really really really want to see it, heard nothing but great stuff about it!

I watched Manchester by the Sea today in the cinema. I really enjoyed this film; it was well crafted, and the depressing themes are kept in check with humour, intelligent scripting and a subtle feel good factor, which seems to creep in at exactly the right time.

This movie is all about Casey Affleck and he does a good job. He conveys the range and depth of emotion that is critical to a drama of this nature. Without Casey Affleck, there is no film. Lucas Hedges' performance effectively compliments that of Casey Affleck, allowing a unique sense of bonding between their characters to develop.

It's a great is an example of strength in simplicity.

I found out that the film studio that put out Ex Machina was also behind the stunnign under The Skin.
Here's a new trailer for their next sci fi film which at this point is untitled.

Also this looks amazing

Here are some other trailers of good looking up and coming tv/films

New trailers: Studio Ghibli's first TV series, a mysterious new sci-fi film, and more

There's a new Einstein tv series courtesy of National Geographic but it seems like it'll be a little cringe worthy.

Also Amazon won't let me view their trailer for the Studio Ghibli tv series so can someone tell me it's good? kthnx

Bruns wrote:I saw A United Kingdom, and it was fantastic. It's about Seretse Khama, who was supposed to become the King of Bechuanaland. But he married a white English woman, with caused the British, South Africans and his uncle to do all they could to either force Seretse to stand aside or divorce Ruth.

Saw it this past Friday and besides the hit and miss accents, I loved the story telling and setting. Botswana is a beautiful country.

I'd been emailing one of the bigger cinema chains in the country since last year, asking them when 'Moonlight' was coming out. I finally have my answer- 11 Feb. I intend on camping outside.

Before this though, I want to see 'Hidden Figures'.

I watched Manchester By The Sea this evening. It was quite depressing and left me feeling a little blue, but I did enjoy it a lot (and not just because it's set in a place called Manchester!)

Apparently it's been nominated for quite a few Baftas and hopefully it'll get some appreciation at the Oscars. I'll look forward to watching it again some day.

^^Do you think the Casey Affleck praise is well deserved? I won't be seeing the film so I'm just wondering.

Yes, although I didn't exactly feel like he had to portray a huge range of emotions. Moody seemed to do just fine.

I recommend seeing Moana. It's beautiful to watch, has a nice story and enjoyable songs. All round a great feel good film that Disney should be applauded for. :)

I really liked the first Logan trailer with Hurt from Johnny Cash playing during the trailer; it was epic, beautiful and poetic.
