Yes to all. Tori, Hole, Amanda, and Garbage are mine, we share Bjork and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I've never been big on Madonna.

Got these tonight. They are Celestion Ditton 100 speakers.

First time I’ve had Celestion
These Celestion are sublime!! For their size these things really deliver the low end. Highs are just right. A little forward but not in your face.
I think the one suffered a drop. The cabinet rattles like crazy. Turns our the tweeter plate got bent! :wide-eyed: how does that happen!? Bent it back slightly and resonance has subsided. Also had to repair a broken trace on the crossover as well. They are up and running!

Is it the best small speaker I ever heard? No that award goes to Infinity Infinitesimal RS 0.1

Would I recommend these? Absolutely!! They are a really excellent speaker and if you shop around can be had for very little money.

If you’re wanting to get into the British speakers look for these.
Compared to other brands like KEF, Rogers, Epos, Tannoy, Rega, Leak, Tangent, Naim, IMF, and Harbeth to name a few Celestion are generally cheaper. Well in this size category Celestion’s are generally cheaper.
That’s not a knock against any of these fine brands. It’s what I’ve seen in my years of watching a ton of auctions.
Unless it’s the SL-600 or SL6 which are notorious and pricey. Some like em and others don’t.

As I’ve said before. Haven’t heard a British speaker I don’t like yet.

 you is funny!! I’m glad to see you here again. :) always enjoyed your political opinion. As it tends to oppose everyone else’s here. Which I love!!!

Well somehow the plate is warped but I believe it’s due to a drop. It caused the crossover to suffer a hairline crack as well. Which unfortunately was through one of the traces.

It’s also possible these were stored in an attic. High heat in summer and extreme cold in winter. Which as we all know causes metal to expand and contract. In turn causes the metal to warp.

Anyway I corrected the bend as best I could. There is still resonance because of it. So I’ll be putting some felt behind the tweeter to absorb those frequencies. It should help. Amazing little things.

Considering these were certainly Celestion’s cheaper model in the lineup. They ain’t no slouch. Little 6” woofer really packs a wallop too. :)

Most of what I listen to is on YouTube and most of it is OST from video games. I typically listen to it while working on my game, and most of the time it’s with headphones. :glasses:

Mostly on Spotify and mostly through my Bluetooth earbuds (which are very nice with great bass), although also sometimes through our sound bar (which has a subwoofer) or through big bookcase speakers in our bedroom. The bookcase speakers are also plugged into a turntable, but I only have a few vinyl records (they’re just too damn expensive).

I'm a huge gamer... So I always have to have some type of music playing in the background when I play on PC or Xbox... So I mostly listen to Spotify and my "Gaming Playlist"... So I guess streaming would be number 1, then I also like the radio when I'm driving...

I can't remember the last time I actually played a CD, streaming is so much easier and convienant for me...

I bought this turntable and the record that is on it in 1977. Over the years this turntable has been through many stereo receivers. But the turntable still plays as it did when it was new. I have many 20th century phonographs here and many records. The turntables they sell now in the 21st century are junk in comparison with this turntable.

The current receiver is a TEAC and it works well. The one before that was a Sherwood and it only lasted three years. I'm trying to think of what brand the first one was. I had an Akai reel to reel. And super large pioneer speakers that are long gone. The first receiver had what they called Dolby which at the time was high tech. I only have about 100 vinyl record albums. About 100 45 rpms. Classic rock. I know every note by heart. I have a couple of those huge and heavy stereos in the console cabinets. Dont know what we were thinking back then to have a steroeo housed in a cabinet that took two or three guys to pick it up and move it?

This is the oldest one. It's 100 years old. It belongs to my lover Corey. There are about 100 records for it. They are fragile as glass. Back in the day a record album was truly an album. Like a photo album except each of the pages were thick paper sleeves to hold each disc. Because there was only one song on each side. So for example a Vaughn Monroe album had five discs. That's ten songs. Then they kept calling them albums long after they invented LPs... Long playing records with multiple songs on both sides.

Ah yes a Victrola! The albums you talk about are 10” in diameter and known as 78s. Called 78s for the speed they play at which is 78 RPM. Very cool player you have there!

I had a few 78s in my teens. I had a Mills Brothers album book like the ones you describe.
My favorite was Jon and Sandra Steele “They Recorded to Beat the Ban”. I think that’s what it was called.

Records on the other hand. I own about 600 or somewhere around there. Still going too. Been into the hobby of audio and records for a long time. Records is going on 19 years now I’ve been into it. Audio I’ve been into since I was 6. That’s 27 years now.

Finally repaired my Infinity Infinitesimal RS 0.1 speakers. One of the tinsel leads on the woofer had frayed and caused a short to occur. :(

I had these repaired by the company that originally made these drivers a year ago. It was a very significant cost. So I decided to tackle this repair myself. It’s not the neatest job but the woofer is working again.

These are very special speakers for many reasons. They were designed by the late Arnie Nudell who we all miss very much in the audio community.

Also it is a very odd speaker other than the EMIT ribbon tweeter they carry. The woofer is one of unique design and the only of its kind. It is a 5 1/4” woofer with dual voice coils. One coil runs at 4 ohms and the other at 2 ohms. It allows the amplifier to have an easier load for driving and delivers some very surprising dynamics for such a small speaker.

More projects to follow. Stay tuned for KLH
Model 6 restoration and Nakamichi BX-1 repair.

Most of my music these days is through I  Radio and my Bluetooth speaker. Which is a toptech audio double speaker. I always listen to music while I'm working.

Sometimes I'll listen to cds when I'm home which is on a denon similar to this one.

I eventually want to get a nice surround sound system. I just don't get to listen to music much when I'm home.
