I watched the season finale of His Dark Materials. A lot of people died this season.

Why didn’t anyone tell me Derry Girls was so funny?

Nobody else thought that was the case

Sorry, I had assumed that the post implied that it excluded British opinions since a sense of humor was required.

(Kidding! Calm down! Don’t spill your tea!)

I have been watching How To Get Away With Murder. It is one of those “guilty pleasure” shows with insane plot twists that make me laugh.

I could really use a comedy right now. Really, I should be asleep, but since I can’t sleep, a good laugh would be nice.

Got myself back into a comic book obsessed mood so I'm back to trying to catch up with all of CW's Arrowverse shows. Which right now means finishing season 5 of Legends of Tomorrow and then ploughing through 2 and a half seasons of Arrow.

Years and Years

Also Star Trek: Discovery, and recently watched Star Trek: Lower Decks, which was very funny. We also started watching TNG, but that didn't meet Brenden's quality standards. :nag:

I just finished binge watching "Kim's Convenience" on Netflix. Very gentle comedy but it made me laugh.

Everyone needs to stop what they’re doing and watch Money Heist.

I would recommend watching it with subtitles as opposed to the dub to get the full emotions in their voices. It’s honestly up there with Homeland. That’s how good it is!

I think Stargate, Battlestar Galactica and Babylon 5 spoiled him. Kind of like how I never really enjoyed a new (to me) RPG again after playing Chrono Trigger and Golden Sun for the first time.

Are we talking original Battlestar or re-imagined 2000s Battlestar here? Cause one I can understand lifting someone's standards for sci-fi, the other very much not.

The reimagined one. We never saw the original.

Then I slightly understand he may have a point because the reimagined Battlestar is one of my favourite TV shows.

Still can't forgive him for not liking TNG though. Like, I can understand it... but I don't approve of it.

It's hard to watch an older show like TNG after watching something more dark and serious like BSG reboot. It can seem silly by comparison.

I'm not really interested in rewatching it. Too much of a downer... kinda one tragedy/setback after another, isn't it? I remember at one point I was sure things had gotten so bad, they'd be reset at the end of the episode in any normal sci-fi show. But they weren't. Things were just... really terrible.

I mean yeah it's not a cheerful lift-your-spirits show but it's just brilliant and I haven't watched it through in many, many years.
