First Name: Carl
Nickname(s)?: ThatNomad
Age: Thirties
Orientation: Gay
Where you live: Texas
Where you're from: Texas
What you do (job, schooling, etc.): Customer Service
Dream Job: Forest Ranger, or Professional Gardener
Religion (or lack thereof): Atheist
Political philosophy: Liberal
Interests and hobbies: Books, books, and more books. I read pretty much constantly. I write fictional characters online in collaborative role playing communities. Also I love to be outside, especially at the beach, or in the woods/mountains. I cook, and I love to bake. Jogging, biking, and swimming are up there on my list of things I like too. I also love to watch soccer and basketball, and I like to play video games like Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy.
Drinking, drugs or sobriety?: Absolutely no interest in drinking or drugs. Bad experiences I've either had, or witnessed pretty much drove that out at a young age.
Special talents: I honestly don't know that I have any... I write stories, does that count?
Pet peeves: Rudeness, entitled behavior, victim mentality
Personal hero: My grandmother. Fled Cuba at 17 yrs of age, with her newborn baby girl, and her American husband, spent eleven years in Brasil, taught herself Portuguese, then came to the U.S. and taught herself English, as well as how to successfully run a household while her husband continued to spend the majority of the year out of the country in the international oil field. She is also a published poet.
Favourite real-life homosexual: RuPaul. Not because he's a drag queen, though I do love what he's given to the larger drag community, but because he is just an inspirational person. A go-getter that doesn't let anything stop him, and goes for everything he sets his eye on. Managing to take something most people never get successful at and turning it into a whole worldwide brand, and inspiring generations of new queens, and other members of the Queer community to be themselves and not care what anyone else thinks.
Favourite movies: Halloween (1978), Alien, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Star Trek IV: The Journey Home
Favourite TV shows: Star Trek
Favourite music: Divan, CNCO, Celia Cruz, Omi, Kane Brown, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Jason Derulo, Madonna, The Weeknd, various hip-hop, and electronica songs, and this list could get out of hand...
Favourite books: The Wheel of Time series, anything Tolkien, The Revelation Space series, most things by Michael Crichton, and Stepehn King, Dracula, Frankenstein, and many more classical lit books.
Favourite food: Comida Cubano FTW! Also Italian, especially Chicken Alfredo, or anything with Italian sausage.

Hey Mr Nomad, welcome to the forum :keke:

I recently had the urge to rewatch one of the original Star Trek episode, the one where Kirk explains Spock's ears to a police office like this:

"My friend is obviously Chinese. I see you've noticed the ears. They're actually easy to explain… He caught his head in a mechanical… rice picker."

I generally prefer the later shows, but I laughed so hard the first time I saw that episode :P

I love the rather inventive ways they've come up with over the years to explain the alien species when they get trapped somewhere that aliens don't exist. They always give me a good laugh.

Thanks for the welcome! You look like a good bunch, can't wait to get stuck in and see what trouble I can get into!

It has been a good long while since I was on this site, and I figured I'd bump this as a sort of reintroduction. Life got a little bit, well okay super hectic, and I ended up losing track of my online communities for a while. I hope I will still be welcome to interact here, because this forum seemed like a great place!
